Before you meet them

Let Them Come to You

Our alpacas and goats are used to people, but they still have their own idea of a good day. These few simple rules keep everyone — two-legged and four — calm and happy.

How to interact with the animals: place your hand open with the feed and let the animal come to you; alpacas eat hay only and goats eat pellets only; do not feed them anything else, do not grab or hold them, do not throw feed or objects, and respect their space.

Good to know

Alpaca or Llama?

The question we hear most on the lawn. Here is the quick way to tell them apart — then come and see the difference for yourself.

Alpaca versus llama: an alpaca has a short face, pointed ears, is curious and very relaxed, and spits at each other; a llama has a long face, banana ears, is not curious and highly strung, and spits at everything.
